do you have any tips for a desperate soul trying to improve in drawing? tutorials or anything?
i know everybody and their grandpa’s dog has said this before, but the biggest tip i can give for someone trying to improve their drawing is to practice, all the time. draw at LEAST one thing every day, even if it’s a doodle, and even if you absolutely hate it. draw it anyway, because every attempt you don’t make is another strike against you getting better.
it might not seem like it, but every time you draw something, you’ve improved a little bit more in some way. you can’t do that if you aren’t practicing consistently, though! you CAN lose your skill if you stop. if art really means a lot to you and you want to commit to the effort it takes to be an artist, then you can’t give up even when you think everything you draw sucks.
i’ve been there (and still go back there a lot of the time), so i know it’s easier said than done, but it’s still the truth. and another thing: don’t erase or throw out the things that you hate!! keep them, because they’re an excellent learning tool, and later once when you’ve really improved you can look back on them and see how much hard work and devotion has helped get you to where you are now.
